10 Day Program: Bamako-Segou-San-Djenne-Mopti-North Pays Dogon


Day One: All day: Visit interesting sights of Bamako
Night: Stay night in Bamako
Day Two: Morning: Depart 8AM for 3-hr drive to Segou and relax before lunch
Afternoon: Lunch and visit town of Segou
Night: Stay the night in Segou
Day Three: Morning: Depart 8AM for 3-hr drive to San and relax before lunch
Afternoon: Lunch & visit town of San and where they make mud cloth
Late Afternoon: Depart 4PM for 3 hr-drive to Djenne
Night: Stay the night in Djenne
Day Four: All day: Visit town of Djenne & archeological site
Late Afternoon: Depart 4PM for 2-hr drive to Mopti
Night: Stay the night in Mopti
Day Five: Morning: Visit town of Mopti with its bustling harbour and markets
Afternoon: Lunch & Bani/Niger river trip to Bozo & Fulani villages & one Tuareg camp
Night: Stay the night in Severe, only 12 km from Mopti and very tranquil
Day Six: Morning: Depart 8AM for 1 and a half hour drive to Bandiagara and visit village
Late Morning: Refreshments and depart Bandiagara for 1-hr drive to Dourou
Afternoon: Lunch in Dourou, relax and visit village
Late Afternoon: Trek 4 km down escarpment through breathtaking gorge to Nombori
Night: Stay the night in Nombori
Day Seven: Morning: Visit village of Nombori and trek 3 km to Idjeli
Afternoon: Lunch in Idjeli, relax and visit village
Late Afternoon: Trek 4 km to Tireli
Night: Stay the night in Tireli*
Day Eight: Morning: Visit village of Tireli and trek 2 km to Amani
Afternoon: Lunch in Amani, relax & visit village
Late afternoon: Trek 5 km to Ireli
Night: Stay the night in Ireli
Day Nine: Morning: Visit village of Ireli and trek 4 km to Banani
Afternoon: Lunch in Banani, relax and visit village
Late Afternoon: Trek 4 km up the escarpment through beautiful gorge to Sangha
Night: Visit and stay the night in Sangha
Day Ten: All Day: Depart Sangha 7AM for 12-hr drive back to Bamako - stop for lunch
